Il est entièrement tissé en rocailles miuki 11/0 avec du fil One G.
Nous allons commencer par le tissage des motifs de la chaîne : pour 43 cm, il faut perler 8 motifs dont le schéma est ci-dessous. L'assemblage sera réalisé à la fin du bijou, lorsque les motifs centraux seront perlés.

We shall start with the motifs of the chaine : for a chain of 43 cm, you must weave 8 motifs, the pattern of which is herebellow to download. The joining will be done at the end of jewel realisation, when central motifs are finished to weave.

Я достаточно хорошо знаю твое творчество, чтобы понять, что ты интересуешься разными техниками, ажурное плетение среди них занимает особое место, и я хочу поговорить с тобой именно о нем.
Как ты нашла эту особую технику ажура с использованием «губчатого картона» и швейных иголочек, для соединения мотивов в узоры?
Меня всегда интересовали «нитяные искусства», особенно ирландское кружево, состоящее из многочисленных вязаных элементов, и вышивка счетной гладью. Когда я увлеклась ажурным бисерным плетением, я всегда представляла его как сборку разных элементов.
Кстати, в этом есть преимущество: легче переделать маленький элемент если ошибешься, чем переделать колье полностью. К тому же, разнообразие форм позволяет не повторять то же самое украшение. Но, конечно, было много технических проблем, которые надо было решать, особенно как соединить мотивы один с другим и дать колье круглую форму.
Имея образование графиста-макетиста, я часто использовала губчатый картон для изготовления, например, макета упаковки духов, прежде чем реализовать идею в картоне. Итак, этот материал был мне знаком. Он позволил мне крепить все элементы любого бисерного ажура швейными иголочками, и после нескольких удачных проб я приняла губчатый картон как основу. Зафиксировав форму украшения, стало легче искать способ соединения мотивов между собой.
В чем источник твоего вдохновения, для создания мотивов?
Моё вдохновение рождается из различных источников: из наблюдения природы и скатерок из нитяного кружева, или просто из желания излить мотив той формы, которая возникает в моей голове и часто следует из моего настроения. Если мне хочется «двигаться», я ориентируюсь на динамический ритм, с нанизыванием и острым концом. Если мне хочется покоя, я ориентируюсь на мотив менее «танцующий». Фантазия делает остальное. Все мои наблюдения, впитанные мной как губкой, являются осознанными или неосознанными составляющими вдохновения.
Как ты создаешь мотив и сколько времени это занимает ?
Некоторые мотивы создаются за два дня. Но это довольно редко - надо чтобы я была действительно очень вдохновенной… и чтобы бисеринки были исключительно послушными!
Бывает, что я беру иголочку со своим бисером и начинаю плести «куда глаза глядят». Иногда успешно, иногда нет. Бывает, что законченный мотив отличается от задуманного.
Также бывает, что я влюбляюсь в мотив кружевного гипюра и размышляю как превратить его в бисерный мотив. Упражнение всегда является трудным, иногда даже невозможным! И я часто нервничаю по этому поводу!
На деле, люди, которые видят готовое изделие, не всегда представляют насколько создание мотива и превращение его в украшение является трудоемкой работой. Бывает, что я начинаю мотив и откладываю его в сторону на несколько дней, а то и недель, потом снова беру и так до тех пор, пока не получится окончательная форма. Та же проблема с промежуточными элементами, у которых есть дополнительная трудность: включение их в уже готовые мотивы, что доставляет мне немало хлопот, а терпение не является одним из моих достоинств…
Когда я точно представляю вид украшения, то быстро перехожу к рисунку. Но рисунок не всё решает, ибо бисеринки капризны. Не всегда можно заставить их сделать то, что тебе хочется. Я снова обдумываю свою работу и меняю разные элементы, чтобы они хорошо расположились в нарисованном целом. Иногда, к изменению элементов приводят технические проблемы.
Когда ты создаёшь мотив, знаешь ли ты заранее, как будет выглядеть твоё украшение, какая будет у него форма?
Я никогда не знаю, какую форму примет украшение. Почти всегда её определяют мотивы. Для их соединения ищу, изучаю какую технику лучше использовать для достижения совершенной формы.
Работа графиста, когда он, например, готовит афишу, состоит в постановке рисунков, фотографий и текстов в пространстве, ограниченном форматом бумаги. Надо чтобы все элементы, составляющие афишу, были хорошо сбалансированы в этом пространстве. И чтобы человек, смотрящий на афишу, понял сущность переданного послания. То же самое в живописи, которой интересуюсь уже давно и в скульптуре. Не чудесно ли констатировать, что застывшее движение статуи продолжается в пространстве почти до бесконечности, что направления классической или современной живописи уносят нас к воображаемым мирам…
Касательно ажурного плетения, это тоже самое : украшение должно быть сбалансировано и взгляд должен задерживаться в его центре. В этом состоит вся трудность монтажа. Решение этих проблем баланса всегда является для меня эстетическим и графическим вызовом.
Какие особенности ажурного плетения привлекают тебя по сравнению с другими техниками?
Другие техники плетения меня тоже интересуют, но с ними манера восприятия пространства мне кажется более линейной, однообразной. Ажурное плетение дарит разнообразные формы, которых я не нахожу в других техниках.

I am now sufficiently familiar with your work to know that you are interested in diverse techniques. Among them, lace beading has an important place and I wish to interview you on this subject.
How did you come up with this peculiar lace technique of pinning motifs to a sheet of rubber cardboard and then linking them to each other?
I have always been interested in the fiber arts, particularly Irish crochet, comprising multiple crocheted elements, and counted cross-stitch. When I began to get interested in lace beading, I envisaged it as a combination of different motifs because it is much easier to redo a small element when you have made a mistake, than to redo the whole necklace. Moreover, the variety of motifs permitted me to never repeat the same design twice. However, there were still many technical problems to be solved, particularly, how to join the motifs together and how to give a round shape to the necklace.
As a graphic designer and model maker, I often used the rubber cardboard as medium, to conceive, for example, the models of perfume packaging before making them in cardboard. This material was therefore familiar to me. Only the rubber cardboard would allow me to fix all the elements of a lace beading project with pins. So, after some experimentation, I adopted it. Once the form of a piece of jewelry is thus fixed, it is easier to find a way to join the motifs.
Where do you find inspiration for your motifs ?
My inspiration comes from different sources such as observing nature, lace bobbin tablemats or simply from the desire to conceive a motif of a form that springs up from my mind as a function of my mood. For example, when I feel energetic, I turn to dynamic motifs with strong peaks and valleys. When I am in a quiet mood, I turn to less lively motifs. My imagination does the rest. All that I see combines with my crochet experience in my conscious or unconscious mind to bring about such designs.
What do you do to create a motif, and how much time does it take you ?
Some motifs may be created in as little as two days, but that is rare and only happens when I am very inspired and the beads are exceptionally obedient!
Sometimes I take my needle and beads and go off in search of a form. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not, and sometimes I end up creating a different motif than the one I had in mind originally.
On other occasions, I fall in love with a Filet lace motif and try to transform it into a beaded motif. This tends to be very difficult, sometimes impossible and frustrating !
In fact, unless you do it yourself, it is impossible to imagine how time consuming it is to create a motif and then create a piece of jewelry by combining such motifs. I must do and re-do things. Sometimes, I start a motif and put it aside for days or weeks. Then, I pick it up again and the motif takes its final shape at last. When I design intermediate motifs, I have to deal with the additional difficulty of integrating them into the existing motifs already in place. Unfortunately, patience is not one of my virtues…
When I have a clear idea of the design I wish to create, I start by drawing it. However, the drawing does not solve all the problems because the beads are capricious. You cannot always make them do what you want. Therefore, I have to reconsider my work and change different elements, so that they fit well into the whole. In general, I tend to change elements in order to deal with technical problems.
When you create a motif, do you know in advance what the general shape of the design is going to be ?
I never know what the shape of a piece of jewelry is going to be. The motifs will nearly always determine its shape. While searching for a way to combine the motifs, the shape usually emerges. I continue to experiment and search for the best technique to create the finished shape.
The work of a graphic designer when imagining a poster, for example, consists of setting drawings, photos and text in a specified space. All the elements of such a poster must be balanced in this space. The eye must be drawn to the message the poster is meant to communicate. The same is true for a painting and for a sculpture. Is it not marvelous that the fixed gesture of a statue seems to continue into space, towards infinity, and that the vanishing lines of a painting carry us along towards imaginary spaces ?
It is exactly the same when it comes to lace beading - the piece must be balanced and the eye must be drawn to its focal point. I have always considered solving problems of balance as an aesthetic and graphic challenge.
What do you find most appealing about lace beading compared to other techniques ?
I am interested in other beadweaving techniques, but the way in which they capture space seems different to me, more linear, more repetitive. Lace beading offers varied curves and swirls that I do not find in other techniques.

Je connais assez bien ton travail maintenant pour savoir que tu t'intéresses à diverses techniques. Parmi celles-ci, la dentelle de perles tient une grande place, c'est à ce titre que je souhaite t'interviewer.
Comment as-tu trouvé cette technique particulière de dentelle avec utilisation d'un carton plume et des épingles pour fixer les motifs, puis les relier entre eux ?
J'ai toujours été très intéressée par les arts du fil, notamment par le crochet irlandais, composé de multiples éléments crochetés, et la broderie à point compté.
Lorsque j'ai commencé à m'intéresser à la dentelle de perles, je l'ai toujours envisagée comme un assemblage de différentes formes.
Pour une bonne raison d'ailleurs : il est plus aisé de refaire un petit élément quand on se trompe que refaire un collier entier. De plus, la variété des formes me permettait de ne pas refaire toujours le même genre de bijou. Mais, bien évidemment, il y avait de nombreux problèmes techniques à résoudre, notamment relier les motifs entre eux et donner la forme arrondie au collier .
Ayant une formation de graphiste maquettiste, j'ai souvent utilisé le support du carton plume pour concevoir, par exemple, des maquettes d'emballage de parfum, avant de passer à la réalisation en carton. Ce matériau m'était donc familier. Lui seul pouvait me permettre de fixer tous les éléments d'une dentelle de perles avec des épingles. Je l'ai donc adopté après quelques essais concluants. Le bijou étant fixé dans sa forme, il était plus aisé de trouver la façon de relier les motifs entre eux.
Où trouves-tu l'inspiration pour créer tes motifs?
Mon inspiration peut venir de différentes choses : l'observation de la nature, de napperons de dentelle de fil, ou tout simplement du désir de concevoir un motif de telle forme qui surgit dans ma tête et résulte souvent de mon humeur. Si j'ai envie de « bouger », je me dirigerai vers un motif dynamique, avec des enroulements ou des pointes. Si j'ai envie de calme, je me dirigerai vers un motif moins « dansant ». L'imagination fait le reste. Et tout ce que j'ai pu regarder, ma propre pratique du crochet, constituent sans nul doute des acquis conscients ou
inconscients.
Comment t'y prends-tu pour créer un motif et en combien de temps ?
Des motifs peuvent être créés en deux jours. Mais c'est assez rare. Ou alors, il faut que je sois vraiment très inspirée….. et que les perles soient exceptionnellement très obéissantes !
Il m'arrive de prendre mon aiguille et mes perles et de partir à l'aventure d'une forme. Cela marche parfois, parfois pas. Et je peux créer un motif différent de celui que je souhaitais.
Il m'arrive aussi de tomber amoureuse d'un motif de dentelle de guipure et de réfléchir à la manière dont je pourrais le transformer en motif perlé. L'exercice est toujours très difficile, voire parfois impossible ! Et ça
m'énerve !
En fait, les personnes qui regardent ne s'imaginent pas à quel point créer un motif, puis son organisation dans le bijou, est un travail assez long parfois. Il faut défaire et refaire. Il m'arrive de commencer un motif et de le laisser de côté pendant quelques jours, voire quelques semaines. Puis je le reprends et il finit par aboutir dans sa forme définitive. Même problème pour les motifs intermédiaires qui ont une difficulté supplémentaire : leur intégration dans les motifs déjà fixés. Eux aussi peuvent me donner du « fil à retordre ». La patience n'est pourtant pas
une de mes qualités…
Lorsque j'ai une idée précise du bijou que je souhaite créer, je passe rapidement à son dessin. Mais le dessin ne résout pas tout car les perles sont capricieuses. On ne peut pas toujours leur faire faire ce qu'on veut.
Il me faut donc reconsidérer mon travail et changer différents éléments pour qu'ils se fondent bien dans l'ensemble dessiné. En général ce sont toujours les problèmes techniques qui m'amènent à changer des éléments.
Lorsque tu crées un motif, sais-tu d'avance quelle sera la forme générale de ton bijou ?
Je ne sais jamais quelle sera la forme d'un bijou. Ce sont les motifs qui le déterminent presque toujours. En cherchant le moyen de les conjuguer ensemble, la forme s'impose presque toujours. J'apprends, je cherche
quelle technique sera la mieux adaptée pour aboutir la forme.
Le travail d'un graphiste, lorsqu'il imagine une affiche par exemple, consiste à mettre en forme dessins, photos et textes dans un espace délimité par le format de papier. Il faut que tous les éléments qui la composent soient bien équilibrés dans cet espace. Et que l'oeil qui la regarde aille à l'essentiel du message communiqué. Pareil pour la peinture à laquelle je m'intéresse depuis longtemps et pour la sculpture. N'est-ce pas merveilleux de constater que le geste figé d'une statue se prolonge dans l'espace, presque à l'infini ? Que les lignes de fuite d'un tableau moderne ou classique nous entraînent vers des univers imaginaires ?
S'agissant de la dentelle, c'est exactement la même chose : le bijou doit être équilibré et l'oeil doit s'attarder davantage sur son centre. C'est toute la difficulté de ce type de montage. Résoudre ces problèmes d'équilibre constitue toujours pour moi un challenge esthétique et graphique.
Quelles sont les spécificités de la dentelle qui te séduisent en comparaison à d'autres techniques ?
Les autres techniques de tissage m'intéressent également mais leur façon d'appréhender l'espace me paraît différente, plus linéaire, davantage répétitive. La dentelle offre des rythmes de déclinaison variés que je ne
trouve pas dans les autres techniques.

N'ayant pas eu le temps de réaliser un collier sur base du 9ième challenge, voici ma composition avec le motif de Coco pour son dernier challenge.

J'avoue qu'il était difficile de réaliser quelque chose après avoir vu toutes les merveilles des autres perleuses.
